At its core, the DocCom Portal offers a centralised application through which information and communication can be managed. Its data architecture specifically reflects the uniqueness of the NHS infrastructure.

It provides complete functionality via the web, with access through web browsers; it is not bound within an organisation’s existing intranet.

We provide versions of the portal configured for the specific communication needs of NHS Deaneries and NHS Trusts.

Create and Manage Web Content

The portal content management system allows information to be published through a clear, well designed and accessible user interface. Shared administration and contribution of content is available, with differing levels of security throughout a site using membership areas. Content of multiple types can be quickly and easily managed and made instantly accessible to healthcare staff, and can be easily fed to other areas within a portal or across multiple portals.

Communicate with Healthcare Professionals

The DocCom Portal enables triangulation of information through web, email and SMS text messages, facilitating the tracking of both healthcare professionals and the information sent to them. With the DocCom Portal, front-line healthcare staff can always access the most up-to-date information.

Provide Professional Networking

Professional networking provides a hook to encourage uptake amongst healthcare professionals. Built on the popular model of social networking websites, DocCom professional networking provides healthcare professionals with their own profile area. Users can keep their professional information up-to-date, maintain a history of their employment and training and network with other professionals. They can also create Professional Networking Groups through which to manage and coordinate educational, social and team-development activities.

Maintain Employee Data

The DocCom Portal enables a healthcare organisation to activate membership to its portal application. The portal requests up-to-date contact information from users and allows health professionals to record their career progression and employment pattern. Portal administrators can cross-check legacy data against user-recorded data.

Send Emails and SMS Text Messages

Users define preferred email addresses and mobile telephone numbers which they can easily keep up-to-date. Emails and text-alerts can be targeted to specific groups of professionals (e.g. specialty, grade, location).

Feed News, Events and Content to Users

The DocCom Portal turns a single point for data entry into multiple data outputs. It enables integration of multiple data sources within and across organisations, allowing streaming of feeds into other media such as Video and Mobile devices.

Access a Growing Communication Network

The DocCom Portal system offers a scalable communication network, capable of spanning the entire health service.
